Yoga Therapy: Improving Focus and Memory

If you've been struggling with thoughts like "I can't maintain focus lately" or "I'm becoming more forgetful than before," this is a gentle program for both mind and body designed to address these concerns. Drawing from her extensive experience in yoga therapy, Beth will help deepen your understanding while teaching practical care methods.


The program includes many practical applications that will be useful for those who work with senior students. No prior yoga experience is required. Anyone can participate regardless of age or physical fitness level. Seated poses can be done either in a chair or on a mat.

The 2.5-hour session includes both lecture and practice.

  • Specially designed yoga movements that promote right and left brain integration

Creating Well-Being: Opening Neural Pathways through Art, Movement, and Breath

A 6-WEEK, IN-PERSON EVENT IN SPRINGFIELD, MISSOURI

WEEK 1: FINDING YOUR ROOTS

Grounding through simple movement and artistic exploration and reflection. Focus on easy balance, better proprioception through lower body, and remembering our young creative selves.

WEEK 2: THE GUT / BRAIN CONNECTION

If your digestive system had the ability to express through making things, how might this change your life? Better immunity? Less Pain? Better ease in digesting life? Movement, breathing , and subtle communication can assist us in reconnecting to the microbiome and its ability to help us heal.

WEEK 3: ART OF THE HEART

Often overthinking has been the hurdle for us to creating pieces that make our hearts sing. Whether we are working from joy or grief, the underlying connection to what we actually feel can change our outcomes for the better. Enjoy lifting energy with some breath and laughter before moving to your piece of the day.

WEEK 4: HEALTHY VITAL BRAIN GAMES

We'll play with hemisphere balance, ways to improve memory and IQ, and work creatively from a part of our brains we may have never given full freedom.

WEEK 5: VAGUS NERVE RESET AND DEEP CREATIVE RELAXATION

Vagus Nerve Reset and Deep Creative Relaxation. So many ways to improve vagal tone and hacks you can use to overcome self criticism, anxiety and depression. Then, apply this deep ease to making!

WEEK 6: VISUALIZING OUR HEALTHIEST SELF

As we take parts from all the phases we have explored, we also examine inner parts work(Inner child, inner critic, etc to create a collage of our journey. Visualizing what a more complete view of our life might look like as we incorporate Mind/body/Arts into our days.

We'll be at Springfield Psychiatry's original office 3646 S Campbell Ave (In Kickapoo Corners Center) Springfield, Missouri. 6 Saturdays January 25 - March 1, 2025 from 10-11:30 am.

The price is just $240 and it's a gift of healing you can give yourself or a loved one or send this info to a friend.

INTRODUCTION TO REGULATING YOUR NERVOUS SYSTEM

In this workshop we turn the brain inside out and upside down to explore proven techniques for neuroplasticity; building new connections between trauma-impacted areas of the grey matter. We’ll use movement, voice, breath, meditation, drawing, and writing to find the hidden creative potential in the non-dominant areas of our brain.

This is a fun and informative course with techniques applicable to:

  • People working with children

  • People working with seniors

  • Those healing from trauma

  • Personal growth

  • Increase self understanding and reclaim child-like creativity

The intention of this course is to introduce the idea of focusing one’s awareness through the practices of visual art in order to encourage self discovery and personal creative expression engaging the whole brain and body on paper using everyday materials and then applying these skills into life.

  • Practices to reawaken your child-like creativity

  • Skills that can transfer to improve your everyday life

Part 1: New Pathways Through Movement, Breath, and Sound

In Beth's sections of the course we'll look at the science behind using the body to impact the overall health of the brain and nervous system. Recent research has found that we can't learn when our nervous system is stressed or in fear. We'll look at ways to help our learning exponentially with accessible techniques for a variety of settings.

We'll explore:

This 3 hour workshop explores the chakras, nadis, spanda,kundalini shakti, marma shira and auric field with new findings to validate ancient teaching and debunk common held thought on these fascinating and valuable concepts and we'll look at some ancient tantric wisdom and put it under a modern lens.

 In the process we’ll learn about how fascia/interstium plays into this understanding and uncover a roadmap that made us who we are. There will be lots of fun and practical ways to more clearly sense the wisdom of healing the body and mind with science-backed breath, movement and meditation techniques.
